There are principles for living found throughout the Bible. As a manager, I look to the wisdom of the scriptures for fundamentals that can be applied successfully each day on the job. I've listed just a few below as illustrations. I would like to hear from other Christian managers for other bits of "Holy Wisdom."
Mark 12:31 "...Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." KJV
1st Corinthians 16:14 "... let all that you do be done with love." NSRV
Romans 12:18 "... live peaceably with all men." KJV
John 13:12-16 "...So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him." KJV
Matthew 20:27-28 "... And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." KJV
The most important thing the Christian manager can do is to abide in the Holy Spirit. It is God's spirit that transforms a life characterized by impatience, lack of compassion, & self-centeredness into a life of love, long-suffering, understanding, self-control, gentleness, forgiveness, peace, and wisdom. To God be the glory!
