Make it count!

 Soulfire

Broken Vessel

by Luke Thomas

Your love has filled me with desire
Hope has ignited my soul with a fire
I will serve You with all abandon
Sing of Your love and mercy, ’til the end

Send me, I will go
Give me strength to let others know
The sacrifice You made on the cross
To save me from being forever lost

chorus  You can use this broken vessel
A life repaired by You, oh Lord
Move Your spirit within me
So I can pour out the love You’ve given

It is by Your grace that I have been saved
Rescued from a life of shame
A love full of hope, so pure
Sheltered in Your arms I feel secure

 Soulfire

I Will Choose Jesus

by Luke Thomas

chorus I will choose Jesus, because He chose me
I will choose Jesus, He set me free
I will choose Jesus, He died in my place
I will choose Jesus; I’m saved by His grace

You are The Way, The Truth and The Life
And I obey what You command
Every hard time You get me through
I come to the Father through only You

This is my prayer and I ask it of You
Grant me Your peace and keep my heart true
I consider everything a loss
To know my Christ who died on the crossbar

Will you choose Jesus? Because He chose you
Will you choose Jesus? He’ll set you free
Will you choose Jesus? He died in your place
Will you choose Jesus? Your saved by His grace

Seasons Of Change

Where is the love?
Where is the joy I knew?
Where is the peace?
and the sweet release?
Well, it seems they 're slipping away

Where is my heart?
My soul, my strength grow weak
Well, how can this be?
Is this reality
that I'm watching slip away?

Where are the dreams that I held so close?
Driven back in a heart of woes?
And everything, how it seems so strange
As life's been rearranged
Seasons have changed

Where is the life?
Where is the truth I knew?
Where is the way?
And the light of day?
Well, it seems they're slipping away

Where are the dreams I used to hold?
Driven back in this heart of woes
And everything now, it seems so strange
As life's been rearranged
Seasons have changed

Where are the dreams that I held so close?
Driven back in a heart of woes?
And everything, now it seems so strange
Where can I go to?
How can I live?
In a world that's so evil
that it cannot forgive?
I hear the call and the knock at the door
One thing that I know for sure
My heart must change

Backlash

I heard 'em talkin' on the radio
But what they're saying, does anyone know?
Can you tell when it's gone too far?
Well ain't it soundin' just a little bizarre?
Here comes the backlash!

Hey! What I see, doesn't anybody see that?
Doesn't anybody know?
I said, Hey, What I see!
Doesn't anybody see that? Doesn't anybody know?

I heard 'em talkin' 'bout an orphanage
You want the government to raise your kids?
You know Stalin put an end to crime
Is that the price you wanna pay this time?
Here comes the backlash!

Hey, What I see, doesn't anybody see that?
Doesn't anybody know?
I said, Hey, What I see!
Doesn't anybody see that? Doesn't anybody know?
Here comes the backlash

Bitterness

Here comes that black dog 'round my back door
Oh, the lore and the lie die in misery sometimes
Don't want you 'round no more

All the rage here contained in this heart of pain
Friend, won't you join me in this bitter cup?
Java's brewin' - Won't you drink it up?

Hey, what I bury inside
Why do I hide my sin?
It's my pride
Hey, all my anger and shame
Why do I do this thing?
It's my game

Freedom, how good it would feel
To know how to love, to know how to feel
Freedom, if I could be free
I would give anything, I would give everything

I hear the Savior at my front door
Take the lore, take the lie
Take the misery, I'm blind
Don't want this world no more
Your love and freedom
are worth dying for

Hey, what I bury inside
Why do I hide my sin?
It's my pride
Hey, all my anger and shame
Why do I do this thing?
It's my game

No One's Home

The phone's been ringing now for quite some time
If someone's in there, won't you drop me a line?
Seen the faint outline of your shadow upstairs
but the shade's drawn tight
What you doin' in there?
Sleepy babies in your ignorant bliss
I'll tell you
The lights are on but no one's home!

Could it be a private charade?
Holding on tight to an active grenade?
As your ego gets fatter now
Does it even matter now?
The ladder you've been climbing on
is burning down in tatters now!
Sleepy babies in your ignorant bliss
I'll tell you
The lights are on but no one's home!

 Wallpaper Pie

9 AM To 3 PM

The incoming weather pattern is spinning
Left to right, south to north, west to east
9 AM to 3 PM

That's the time
The curve when the ball stopped turning
The cross was full, then the X was empty
Then the ground was full, then the hole was empty

Now the worm has turned toward Ninevah town
The pins are rolling, the beaters are turning
Turn the knob up until the pie is burning
Take a bite, drink a cup, the pattern is broken
It's broken up for you

Hey, Jimmy J, before I forget
Somebody spin me another slice of pie

How Can I Reply

You laid the earth's foundations
You marked off its dimensions
Laid the cornerstone
And the stars they sang together
And all the angels shout for joy

You loose the cords of Orion
You give orders to the morning
Showed the dawn its place
And you fathered the drops of dew
And all the angels shout for joy

You set your dominion over all the earth
Send the very lightning on its way
You endow my heart with wisdom
Give understanding to my mind
The hawk takes flight and spreads its wings
The eagle soars at your command

How can I reply but to praise you?
How can I reply but to give you glory?
How can I reply but to praise you?
I give you glory
Glory
To your name

Revelation

I was walking in the sunlight
I was wearing a suit and tie
Then I was sitting by the roadside
Sitting, watching a convertible go by

Saw a vision in the moonlight
Saw the boulders rolling down a hill
Saw a vision, felt the firelight
Mother Nature she was dressed to kill
Oh, I had a revelation

You were with me, you were running
You were chasing a man with a knife
You threw your head back
You whooped and hollered
You tried erasing the rest of your life

I pulled out a cigarette, I pulled out a lighter
The flames caught the ground on fire
We ran through smoke and took a drink of water
The sound of your swallow was a tabernacle choir
Oh, I had a revelation

Now listen
There comes a day, there comes a mountain
Will open up and the rocks will speak
Will talk of bread, will talk of fishes
Will talk of passion plays, will talk of seven days

Will talk of well water, of blood and bleeding
Will talk of writing with a finger in the sand
Will talk of dust and of redemption
And everything as ending as it first was planned

Shout hallelujah and glory, glory
Take off your shoes and dance around the flame
Sit down and listen to my revelation
Reveal yourself
You will never be the same

Mud

He took a little mud and He breathed upon it
And that's when the trouble began
He gave him a choice and the choice he made was original sin
Original sin

And He killed a rabbit to clothe him
And He taught him the way to live
And you and I and all the people are his next of kin
Next of kin

Take my hand and rub it
Rub a little mud off of it
Take my hand and kiss it
Hold it against your lips until
Something good or better happens
Or happens to come along
Come along, come along with me
Come a long, long way with me

 One April Day

America

Oh this is America
where children are born only to die
Never having an opportunity
to learn to love, to laugh to learn to cry

Oh this is America
where children grow up never knowing the tender touch
Of a mother who loves them
Or a father to learn to love and respect

Oh this is America
Land of broken lives and broken dreams
Oh this is America
Can the Father see the dreams, can the Father hear the screams
The innocent blood that's shed each day
A woman's right and the children they pass away

Oh this is America
Land of broken lives and broken dreams
Oh this is America
Can the Father see the dreams, can the Father hear the screams
The innocent blood that's shed each day
A womans right and the children they pass away

One April Day

Who of us can dwell with the Holy burning and the everlasting fire
I've asked to see your face and walk before Your Holiness
But my life shows I'm a liar
I hear you calling me, from the hill of Calvary

One April Day
Your life drained away
As you hung between earth and sky
Now there's no question why
It's my turn to die
And lay down my life for you

Will I overcome, will I be made holy
Will I lay aside my will to walk my way
Calvary teaches me to lift my cross and follow you
As I trust you and obey
You paid the price on the hill of sacrifice

One April Day
Your life drained away
As you hung between earth and sky
Now there's no question why
It's my turn to die
And lay down my life for you

Why

Life can be tough when you're just seventeen
For Sarah, her life was one long broken dream
When your parents don't care if you're here or you're gone
With no friends it's so hard to be strong

By the afternoon mother is screaming some more
With tears in her eyes Sarah runs for the door
With heartbreak and anger she walks through the rain
And throws her life and her hopes in the path of a train

Down the road Mark and Janie are expecting their first
The soon to be parents and the marvel of birth
And with two weeks to go and the nursery complete
The fragile young heart in her womb ceases to beat

And I know you're asking me why
Are we being crushed by this crumbling sky
And hurts too deep to be answered by man
But God's holy Son can give you life again
Never giving in to despair
Don't give up hope that He's there

There's a man who knows every tear that you've cried
For the love of us all He left His Father's side
As they stripped off His robe and they tore off His skin
Through the blood that He shed He gives hope to all men

And I know you're asking me why
Are we being crushed by this crumbling sky
Hurts too deep to be answered by man
God's holy Son can give you life again
Never giving in to despair
Don't give up hope that He's there

Paradise

One man cries on his way to the top
World by the tail but he just couldn't stop
Lust of his eyes and the pride of his life
Now there's no shoulder for the tears of his wife

One girl sits on the beach in the sand
She's hoping the world's gonna notice her tan
The Hollywood promise of fortune and fame
And losing your virtue is part of the game

Oh no, can't they see, You're their only hope
Once you're gone, you're gone for good
The second life misunderstood
You've only got one shot at Paradise

One boy tries to fit in with the rest
He's thinking the crowd's gonna give him the best
The blind lead the blind and I've seen it before
Now he's so empty and looking for more

A mom and dad by the grave of their son
Tears in their eyes and their lives all undone
All the fond memories of laughter and joy
But the one burning question, where is their boy?

Oh no, can't they see, You're their only hope
Once you're gone you're gone for good
The second life misunderstood
You've only got one shot at Paradise

 Armor Of Light

Love Not The World

Love not the world
Nor the things that are in the world
If any man love the world
The love of God is not in him

Seek first His kingdom
And He'll add all things to you
Put on the armor
Resist the devil, He will flee

Where is your treasure?
For where your treasure is, your heart is

Come Unto Me

Are you lonely?
Are you tired of chasing the wind?
Do you feel you're sinking down
From holding all the weight of your sin?

Do you need some hope?
Do you need salvation?
At the end of your rope?
Well, this is your invitation

Jesus said, Come unto me
If you labor and you're heavy laden
Come unto me
If you're thirsty I will give you living water
Come unto me
If you're hungry I'm the bread of life
If you're tired of the struggle and strife
Then come to me

Are you running?
Are you looking for a place you can hide?
Won't you come to the Rock,
The only safe place that you can abide?

Are you searching
But you don't know what you're looking for?
It's so close to you
All you've got to do is open the door

Armor Of Light

Prepare for warfare
Come take a stand
We don't wrestle flesh and blood,
We don't strive with man

This fight's a spirit thing so put down your gun
Resist the enemy and he will run
Carry the cross into the night
Put on the armor, the armor of light

The Lord is my rock, He is my tower
In his name there is strength,
In his blood there is power

There is nobody like Him under the sun
I will testify of all the things He has done
The lord is my shield, with him on my side
Who can stand against me, from whom shall I hide?

Raise up the standard, lift up your head
Holding forth the word of life,
Believing what He has said

 Third Floor Thursday

Prison

I know I've seen this place before
Four solid walls without a door
No looking out, no looking in
My fiery cries turn icy thin

Over and over
I've made my heart a den of thieves
Inviting sorrow
To pitch a tent and have its way with me

I'm having dinner with all my fears and all my heartaches
I'm entertaining all my memories of pain
Some double helpings for the bitterness I hide
Can't help but wonder why I love what I despise

I know every inch of this place
Memorized each line on fear's face
Wanting to ignore deception
But every glance holds my reflection

Thought I knew better
Thought all mistakes were laid to rest
But in the shadows
I must confess, I cannot tame the past

O Lord, humble me
Crumble me
I hate what I've become
A puppet on the hand of fear

Sand Castles

I stumbled out across the sand
I take my dreams and I bury them
Hoping that my wishes will come true
Will my ship come sailing in?
Will I find true love again?
I wait for peace to wash up on the shore.

I walk in such a fragile kingdom
The palace walls are sure to crumble.

I live in a castle made of sand
Its days are few
It cannot stand
The crashing waves will free my soul
Living water, come and make me whole

When the waves sweep over me
The cell keys turn and I am free
All my tugging past is washed away

Your love's a harbor, wide open
And my heart fits just right inside

Falling

It's night, the sun has fallen, the moon is rising up
The lonely darkness beckons, "Come steal away with me."
I've made a covenant with light, this promise can't be broken
But the quicksand of your lulling voice is desire spoken

Somewhere I don't belong, I
I feel I'm falling, falling
The darkness sings my song
I hear it, hear it calling

So I retreat to save myself, and find you in there waiting
You use my thoughts as poisoned darts, to fly against me
All that I wanted was a chance to determine my own fate
You gave me every chance and more, to dig my grave.

Star Chaser

Too much pain, too many questions
I think I'll pack my bags and run away
I'll catch a ride on a comet
If people wonder why, I'll say it's just because
So lace up your white Nikes, and don your black PJs
Take a couple bucks for some rocket fare, but

Wishing on a star won't get you very far
Unless you really got no place to go
If it's meaning that you seek
Then your reasoning is weak
Maybe it's your aim that's just too low.

I knew a guy, his name was Simon
He was an agent for an up and coming thing
He had the world in his pocket
Till his pretty little starlet
Caught a fever that was scarlet
Now he's out of business and out of his mind
And he only talks to trees
Cause at least they'll do what Simon says

Back in the third grade there was this girl
We were the king and queen of the monkey bars
I though for sure it would last forever
Until I fell down, broke my arm, and she took up with the swingers.

Be Still and Know

My tears have been my food both day and night
I hardly recognize the face of hope
I struggle with this weight I cannot bear
But, oh, your still small voice - it meets me there

Just let go of it, lay it at My feet
Watch My gentle hands put your fears to rest
Quiet all your thoughts, let yourself be caught
In My warm embrace, just be still and know

The winds of indecision blow again
We cannot see what is the best for now
Too many choices calling out to us
But we don't need to see, we just have to trust

Can't Deny

I still remember the words that you said
Find them running around in my head
Made a hole in my heart
Left me desperate with questions
And better off left for dead
Before the rooster crows three times
You'll leave your loyalty behind
Not me Lord, I will not fall
Not me Lord, I'll follow

Oh, I can't deny
I do not know this man of whom you speak
Oh, I won't deny
I knew him not, this man of whom you speak

This guilt is an invisible weight
I'll admit I was much too late
For all my committment, for all my resolve
I couldn't keep my promise to wait
The temple curtain tore in two
So did my heart when I saw you
My friend, I missed it
Oh my friend, could not resist it

Oh, I can't deny
I knew him well, this man of whom you speak
Oh, I won't deny
He was my friend, this man of whom you speak

 Brown Bear Music

Amazed

I'm standing here alone, feet on holy ground
There's no-one else around, it's just you and me now
There's desire in my heart to always be this close
Feel the warmth against my face, amazed at your mercy

I'm so amazed at your mercy Lord
I'm so amazed at your beauty Lord

You filled the sky with stars, my heart with your love
Put fire in the sun and my heart burns for you
You cut me to the core, passion overwhelms me
You've called me to be yours and I come completely

Heavenly Father

Heavenly Father
May your holy name
Be lifted high in all the earth
Heavenly Father
Let your Kingdom come and
Your will be done in all the earth

I will follow you to the ends of the earth
I will give to you every day of my life
I will thirst for you from the depths of my soul
I will worship you until the end of time

Heavenly Father
Wash away our sins and
Make us holy in your eyes
Heavenly Father
Guide our our hearts and minds
And keep us hidden in your love

Beyond The Fridge

Perhaps if babies were born fully clothed for combat you would still be here
Your head carefully covered with a brown leather hat and ear flaps
Your hands gloved with the slaughtered lamb's woolly warm love
Your life made tangible by breath marks printed on the air
Your neatly booted feet walking easily on a world of tightly frozen dreams
Perhaps if babies were born fully clothed for combat you would still be here

Perhaps you would have run into the snow and shaped it to war against your fear
Gloved, pink hands, defiant of the cold, molding snowballs that could be hurled sky high
I am in control you'd cry I am stronger than the snow
And you watch the whiteness crash into life's mundane moments
And you'd laugh and shout again, your breath marks the air with triumph

Perhaps you would have seen the graves that lie beneath the snow's veneer
Your booted feet kicking the bones out of their ancestral circular trail
Instead of following it round, tripping and falling, being abused and abusing

Your feet not neatly booted but ripped and reddened by the cutting cold ice
Your bare head and stiff, naked body bruised purple by white, frozen snowballs
Perhaps if babies were born fully clothed for combat you would still be here

Perhaps you would have stood directly on those dreams, iced dreams that were so near
The sharpness of your mind hammering the ice, your boots stamping, wham! bam!
I want to be a lawyer, bring some justice into the world
I want to be a writer, write about my life
Instead your ripped feet hopped on dream's outer edges in anguished pain

Perhaps if babies were born fully clothed for combat you would still be here
Perhaps you would have climbed life's mountain peaks with caution and reverie
Instead of shouting for your rights God! I command you to put me down!
And when your grandfather met his son-in-law he said God help any daughter!
And did God help?
The days we prayed. Your fear of hell
Your question
Can God rescue someone if there's hardly anything of them left?

We prayed and days later you went beyond Earth's frozen fridge of fear
Beyond the fridge into the Son's warm domain where healing water flows
And He showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal flowing
A moving river, hot tears running, compassion pouring from God's throne

Warming you, drawing you, wooing you, healing you
As He molded what remained of you, allowing icy dreams to flow

Satisfied

If you obey me in all that I say
And if you will serve me with all of your heart
If you will love me and walk in my ways
Stay close to me and I'll stay close to you

I will send rain on you
I will restore your mind and soul
I will provide for you
And you will forever be satisfied

 KnotEye

Anchor

Sometimes I look around, I see it's true of old
Is it me or is this world, whose love is growing cold?
And everywhere I turn, it all looks the same
Lord I want to get off, I'm tired of playing in this game

There's an anchor for our souls
In this age The Lord is on His throne
Let this be an anchor for our soul
Let this be an anchor for our soul

Sometimes I am ashamed, cause I feel so low
I've been given new life, why don't I let it show
In You I've got it made, in You I am so blessed
In You I find my hope, in You I find my rest

There's an anchor for our souls
In this age the Lord is on His throne
And in the end He will triumph over all
The risen Lord and He'll gather all us home
Let this be

 More Than Electric

Deep Blue Sky

Say the words
And you could be free
Cast your cares
To your knees
Goin' down To the river
Goin' to

Deep blue sky
I'll see You tonight in the blink of an eye
I'll see You tonight
Deep blue sky
I'll see You tonight in the blink of an eye

Fly like a bird
Spread your wings
Learn to soar
Learn to believe
in Him
Goin' down
To the river
Goin'

Father Of The Universe

Let it go
Let your Spirit flow
I can't wait
Walk your streets of gold
Celebrate on high
The maker of it all
Of you and I
Hallelujah to the One
For sending those chills up and down my spine

I know I don't deserve this
All I know is You are always...

There with me all the time
When everybody else has given up
You wait for me to find
Cause heaven waits for everyone with love

Raise your hands this time
Syncopated angels, streaming vibes
Let the music carry on
Let the beauty of it all be glorified

There with me all the time
When everybody else has given up
You wait for me to find
Cause heaven waits for everyone with love

And all the corners of the earth will sing
The praises of the Son
Cause heaven waits for everyone with love
Father of the universe

I Raise My Hands

I raise my hands to heaven
Just to give You praise again
We know the fire's burnin'
When it goes down in the end
I Raise my hands to heaven

Sparkles and shines
One more day
Sadness and sorrow
Fade away
Springtime has come
For great escapes
Scenes that remind me of things You've said

Soar away with wings of eagles
With style and grace that
Send me further than any starlight in space

Oh how I've tried To fall from grace
You're always there
For my mistakes
Autumn is here
Colors change
When everything's over I'll be amazed

Soar away with wings of eagles
With style and grace that
Send me further than any starlight in space
I can't wait to see
Your face when I say

Wheels Go Round

It's another sunny day
And I'm never gonna be the same
Never be the same
Something about the things you say
And I feel I gotta make the change
Gotta make this change

It's such a lovely day
To let it out and get to seekin'
If it's the way you feel
Then let it out
So we can get these...

Wheels go 'round
Get things started and make these
Wheels go 'round
Let's get things started
And we'll make it go around

Let it in and let it go
Maybe I'll see you at another show
At another show
It's the simple things I know
Like puttin' Jesus on the radio
He's on the radio

 InDeo

Before You

You said you'd stand always by my side
To hold my hand in my worst hour
I know you never meant to let me down
That's just the way it is, you were born a man
Undeserving of your crown

Chorus
It's only Jesus Christ that can take a man higher
He can make us clean, we're refined in his fire
We can stand in His presence, we're saved by His grace
Living in His strength as we look to His face
I fall, down on my knees before you
I fall down on my knees before you
I fall, down on my knees before you
I fall down on my knees before you

Cry out my God, come rescue me again
I've fallen down, sinking without your hand
You know I never meant to let you down
But I've turned away so many times and tried to steal your crown

--  Chorus  --

Who am I, that you should ever love me?
I'd picked my side, you were, rejected
And yet you gave up everything for me
When I'm the one who caused you pain and nailed you to a tree

--  Chorus  --

It's A Crazy World

Junk food John's got a lonely night in again
Slouched on the couch watching vids in his cardigan
He shops on line so he never see's another soul
Second-hand Sam's got a money making master plan
And my old man says he want's to be a Cambridge fan
The pressure from his job must have finally taken its toll

The world's gone mad and the walls just keep on falling down
And everyone around just accepts that that's the way that it is

Chorus
It's a crazy world, It's a crazy world, It's a crazy world
And I've got a ticket to ride, but don't feel fine
And this world it keeps on spinning
And the more it does the more I feel dizzy
But you give me something solid to stand on in this crazy world

Lisa took her Visa on a shopping trip to Birmingham
She had to take a loan just to pay the monthly minimum
The January sales won't be back here for another year
Ten pint Terry started early for the weekend
In the pub from 4 and he's hoping it will never end
He woke up in a wheely bin in Bristol, and he don't know why

--  Chorus  --

Nick next door is a militant monogamist
His girlfriend Sally wants to marry his chiropidist
She wants to go on Jerry, to tell him that the babie's his
Jill took a pill when Ryan started flying
She ran away from home and left her father crying
His pretty little girl just became another national statistic

--  Chorus  --

Three Bed Semi

Fast car
Three Bed Semi
Wide TV
Catch me anywhere, how
WAP enabled
I've got sky and my mates got cable

So tell me now
If I asked you tonight
Is that what you got out of life?
Cause from up here it don't look that great
You've filled your pockets but they're lined with hate

Because you gave your life for me
I'm free
So now I'm giving it all to you, to you , to you
So now I'm giving it all to you, to you , to you
Giving it all to you, to you, to you
Giving it all to you

New shirt
Up for a flirt
Drank too many
No one's hurt
Got my mates around me
Pension plan
Who's the man?

So tell me now
If I asked you tonight
Is that what you got out of life?
Cause from up here it don't look that great
You've filled your pockets but they're lined with hate

Because you gave your life for me
I'm free
So now I'm giving it all to you, to you , to you
So now I'm giving it all to you, to you , to you
Giving it all to you, to you, to you
Giving it all to you
